Reservation of Rights – Obelisk Music Group

The music industry embraces the opportunities presented by emerging technologies, including generative AI. While responsibly developed AI tools may benefit the sector, it is essential that the rights of creators and rights holders are fully respected, and that they retain the ability to authorise or prohibit the use of the rights they own or control. Copyright holders can exercise their rights through licensing and through general or specific reservations of rights.

Without prejudice to any prior reservations, Obelisk Music Group, in addition to any other reservations already published, hereby expressly reaffirms that our rights are fully reserved as set out below:

• Any past, present, or future use of any works or content owned or controlled by Obelisk Music Group — including but not limited to sound recordings, audiovisual recordings, musical compositions, lyrics, artwork, images, data, metadata, or any other materials — is strictly prohibited for the purposes of reproduction, performance, distribution, linking, ingestion, machine learning, AI training or development, AI system commercialisation, web scraping, ripping, recording, alteration, extraction, derivative creation, crawling, text or data mining, or any similar activity, whether by manual or automated means. Except where specifically and explicitly authorised in advance by Obelisk Music Group, no such use is permitted.

• In the absence of an express advance licence permitting such uses, Obelisk Music Group expressly reserves its rights under the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth) of Australia, as well as under equivalent copyright and related rights laws worldwide (including but not limited to Article 4 of Directive (EU) 2019/790). This reservation applies to all works and content now existing or created in the future that are owned or controlled by Obelisk Music Group, including those identifiable via public or digital sources.

Obelisk Music Group will take all necessary steps to prevent infringement and enforce its rights.
